'I completed an NPQ in teaching and learning over the 2021-22 academic year. Through this 12-month course, it enabled me to develop my understanding of education and begin to explore and develop my leadership skills. The study and application approach encourages all participants to put their learning to good use in their setting on a weekly basis. Clinics and community sessions expanded my learning and gave opportunities to network with other teachers and professionals across the county. As a middle leader at Rowan Gate - having finished and passed the course - I feel I now have the knowledge and experience to carry out my role to support other teachers and children across the school successfully. There are a variety of courses on offer that support teachers to progress in their career - I look forward to starting the next NPQ in senior leadership in the 2023-24 academic year.' Sarah, Computing Lead
'I completed the NPQ in Leading Teaching Development and have gone onto the Leading Literacy NPQ. Both courses have supported my own professional development in areas of my role combining theoretical knowledge required and also enabling practical application of what has been learnt. Community and Clinic sessions allowed for networking with other professionals in SEND settings and also within mainstream, primary and secondary, gaining greater understanding of different environments. Having completed the courses for myself and seen the benefit, I have been able to recommend specific courses to other teachers within Rowan Gate to support their own professional development.' Nicole, Senior Teacher and English Lead.
