As a school we actively try to encourage and assist all pupils to achieve the highest possible levels of attendance .
We see regular school attendance as necessary for all pupils if they are to achieve their full potential and aim to work in partnership with parents to avoid unnecessary absences.
As from September 2013, the government enforced that the school should not agree to leave of absence unless there is an exceptional circumstance.
If you feel that your request is an exceptional circumstance, you can complete a “Leave of Absence” form (see sidebar), giving the reason for your child needing time off from school.
Please submit this form to the Head Teacher (at least 4 weeks before the intended date) for her consideration. Parents will receive written confirmation of whether or not the request for leave has been granted.
