We were thrilled that Wollaston Paralympic hero, Maisie Summers-Newton agreed to open our new building.
Maisie, who brought home a pair of gold medals and a bronze medal from the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024, delivered an assembly in school for pupils before cutting the ribbon and officially opened our new building.
The stand-alone building on the bottom of the school site comfortably accommodates 40 pupils, having replaced a former double temporary mobile unit.
The decision was made to build a separate space on the school field rather than extend the main building. The building includes four specialist classrooms and designated sensory room to facilitate learning for children with a range of sensory needs.
Mrs Coles said that the building has made a positive difference for the children at the school.
Acting Headteacher, Julia Coles thanked the local authority, the management team of the building project and the school’s governing body.
