Dear Parents, Carers and Stakeholders,
Following discussions with UK Health Security Agency, North Northamptonshire Council and the Chair of Governors the decision has been made to close the WELLINGBOROUGH SITE to everyone for at least the rest of this week.
This situation has arisen despite very stringent control measures which have been in place since the start of term in September.
This has been a very difficult decision and has been made to try to break the chain of transmission of the virus around school. There are several linked cases and some random cases on the RGW site.
I am also mindful of the need to maintain ratios of staff to keep all of the children safe, and unfortunately at the moment, this is not possible. Many staff are unwell.
I am hopeful that the closure of the site will act as a ‘firebreak’ and that we will be able to reopen on Monday 6th December. However, this is entirely dependent on staff PCR test results, and may need to change if more confirmed cases emerge.
RGW will be closed for deep cleaning from 4pm today, and apart form site staff and cleaners there will be nobody on site.
Remote learning will be available - you will be contacted by your child's Class teacher. Please check Parentmail regularly as updates will be sent to you via this service - thank you.
