We have places for 230 children from 4 years to 11 years old; pupils may join the school at any age as appropriate.  We are a day special school for children who have learning difficulties which may be moderate, severe or profound and multiple.  We also have provision for children with autism and children with a visual or hearing impairment.  The children who come to Rowan Gate are generally from Wellingborough and East Northamptonshire.

Children are normally admitted at the beginning of the school year, unless there are particular circumstances.  All children are the subject of a Education, Health & Care Plan, except where, in very rare circumstances, wshen the EHC Team may request that Assessment takes place at the school.

If your child has an education, health and care statutory needs assessment in progress you will need to complete a preference form and apply for a primary school place in the usual way.

If you think that your child has special needs and they are not currently attending an early years setting please contact the  A member of staff will put you in contact with one of the Early Years Support Teachers who will be able to assist you.

If your child has special needs and they are attending an early years setting, please discuss your child’s school place with the named Special Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO). The head teacher or teacher-in-charge or manager of the early years setting will be able to let you know who this is and how to contact them.
