08 July 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope that this letter finds you all safe and well, I am writing to update about our plans for September 2020.
In the coming few days, your child will receive a letter in the post, sharing with them their new class details, and teacher’s name, in a format which I hope they will find accessible.
You will receive your child’s annual report by email on Thursday this week 9th July, or by mail if you do not yet use Parentmail. The annual report is a statutory requirement and will detail your child’s progress in school up to the time of closure in March due to the Pandemic. This year, we are not required to report on attendance.
We are planning to welcome ALL pupils back during the week beginning 7th September, and will be giving the pupils currently on roll a few days to settle before bring in pupils new to our school.
Children currently on roll will start on Monday September 7th 2020. The start and finish times may vary slightly and we will confirm this with you before the end of next week.
I hope that this will give current pupils the chance to become familiar with the new rules and routines before welcoming new friends to their groups.
Pupils who are new to the school will start from Wednesday 9th September 2020, depending on their year group.
We have introduced many new routines and rules following government guidance, which aims to keep everyone as safe as possible.
Each class group is being considered a ‘bubble’ which will not mix with other bubbles. This is to prevent infection passing from one group to another in the event of an outbreak of Covid-19. The children will enter and exit the building by separate outside doors, and parents will be asked to drop children off to staff as quickly as possible, without making time to talk.
For the first term, until December 2020, we will not be having assemblies or larger group activities, and will be keeping visitors to the site to an absolute minimum.
Packed lunches will be available for pupils in receipt of Free School Meals, or Universal Infant Free School Meals. Hot meals will not be provided initially. You are welcome to send in a packed lunch for your child.
We will no longer be able to provide snacks for the pupils, and you will need to send in a morning drink and snack each day for your child.
Please ensure that you send in plenty of drinks for your child, or a refillable water bottle if they drink water. We will not be asking parents for snack money.
Transport is being organised by the Local Authority, and they will be in touch with you if your child is entitled to Education Transport.
If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to email me: . I understand that the return to school is an anxious time, and hope that we can all work together to settle our pupils back in to a new routine as smoothly as possible.
Kind regards,
Laura Clarke,
